Sharan Grewal is an Assistant Professor of Government at American University and a nonresident senior fellow at the Brookings Institution. His first book, Soldiers of Democracy? Military Legacies and the Arab Spring (Oxford University Press), explores why some militaries support and others thwart democratic transitions.

Rachel Bartz (W&M)
Lena Bullard is a senior at W&M majoring in International Relations and French/Francophone Studies. She is a member of the 1693 Scholars Program. Her research interests include global decolonization, international law, and human rights. Additionally, she is a research fellow with the International Justice Lab and is on the Conduct and Honor Advisory Program (CHAP) executive board.
Georgia Freyer is a senior at W&M majoring in Government with a minor in history. Her research interests include Latin American politics and protest. In her spare time Georgia competes on William & Mary's undergraduate moot court team and belongs to the Film Society.
Seojin Lee is a sophomore at American majoring in political science with a minor in philosophy and is a member of the SPA Honors Program. She is particularly interested in democratic movements in South Korea and joined the People Power Data Project team to broaden her perspective to a global scale. In addition, Seojin serves on the executive board of Students for a Just Society and works as a Korean language coach at CLEAR.

Khaled Maalouf is a senior at Georgetown majoring in international politics with a focus on the Middle East. He is interested in a range of subregional topics, including Levantine affairs, counterterrorism, and human rights. At the People Power Data Project, he has focused especially on 21st century Arab uprisings.
